FTA Transport Conferences Break Attendance Records

FTA Transport Conferences Break Attendance Records

The Freight Transport Association has revealed that their Transport Manager 2017 Conferences have exceeded all of their previous attendance records. The association has said that more than 1,400 people registered to attend this year’s series of events, and there are still bookings being taken for the remaining for conferences of the year.

The ten exclusive conferences held across the country have been sponsored by Iveco and seek to highlight a number of key issues for anyone who is operating commercial vehicles and include and address given by the local Traffic Commissioner as well as a number of different sessions that focus on enforcement priorities and roadside stops. Other topics at these events include city centre truck restrictions as well as apprenticeships and skills as well as work to prevent vehicles being used for terrorist activity, vehicle technology and in-cab cameras.

The FTA Events Manager, Carlie Nowell has said that the series has already proved itself to be a success, and beneficial for transport managers. The sessions allow managers to keep up to date and fully informed with the latest information about regulations as well as offering solutions and suggestions for transport managers to remain compliant. The FTA slightly more than halfway through the series and have already managed to exceed the attendance figures for 2016. However, it is important for the association to not rest, and to make sure that they reach as many transport managers as possible with the rest of the programme. It is hoped that anyone who hasn’t yet booked a place will make sure they do, in order to make the most of the opportunity offered by the UK’s largest and most influential membership association in the freight and logistics sector.

The FTA Transport Manager Conference programme has been in operation for more than 16 years and has been supported this year by a number of companies such as Brigade Electronics, Goodyear Tyres and Microlise. 2017 is the second year in a row that attendance records have been broken, and hopefully this trend continues.
