FTA Ireland Holding Semiar to Help Resolve Brexit Challenges

FTA Ireland is known for being the most active and most vocal membership associate in the Republic of Ireland’s logistics sector. With less than 18 months to go until the United Kingdom leaves the European Union it is becoming more apparent that the trading arrangements for businesses in the UK and Ireland are in desperate need of attention. The concern is that on Brexit Day, the distribution of all goods and services into and out of the UK will halt.

The Republic of Ireland has been working to drive their business relationships forward, despite the negotiations in Brussels making slow progress. The progress of business relationships is essential in order to make sure that distribution doesn’t come to a screeching halt in 2019 when Brexit kicks in.

In order to try and offer assistance and support to their members, FTA Ireland will be holding a unique one-day event which will be taking place at Croke Park on the 20th November 2017. The event, called ‘Brexit: the future implications for Ireland/UK trade’ will be supported by a range of different companies and will explore the challenges related to Brexit.

The seminar taking place in November will be supported by KPMG and Brigade Electronics, and Fleet Transport Magazine will be acting as media partner. The event will hopefully bring together speakers from politics, finance, logistics and broadcasting in order to try and shed some more light on the issues Brexit could pose and how businesses can overcome them.

It is important for all companies involved in the supply chain to collaborate when sourcing and agreeing a range of solutions that will allow for frictionless trade relationships between the Republic of Ireland and the rest of the UK in order to ensure that goods and services will flow seamlessly across the two nations and their borders. The FTAI want to make sure that any solution will keep the economy robust while also ensuring a strong logistics trade.
