UK Women Win in Everywoman Awards!

This year’s everywoman awards in transport and logistics has named Sue Branston, Country Head for Fleet Logistics UK and Ireland, as one of its finalists. The everywoman awards, now in their 12th year, recognise the efforts of woman within the transport and logistics sector in the UK.

From freight and rail to retail and architecture, the awards showcase the range of opportunities that redefine an industry traditionally seen to offer only manual, male-dominated jobs. Everywoman has been, for the past 12 years, committed to celebrating the UK’s brightest female talent in the industry using the awards as a platform to applaud their success.

This year’s awards programme will see two winners per category – one industry “Leader” with a breadth of experience and one individual at any stage of their career, who is going “Above and Beyond” in their business sector.

In addition, an “Industry Champion” Award will recognise a woman contributing to the progress of other women, while a “Male Agent of Change” will be recognised for his commitment to gender diversity. For the first time in 2019, the industry’s fresh talent will also be celebrated by the “Apprentice of the Year” Award.

Branston has been shortlisted in the Leader category in the Supply Chain Award for women  who are innovating and excelling in their role within the supply chain environment, where she will be up against against other finalists from  Unipart Rail, CEVA Logistics and the Co-operative Group.

Branston, who has over 30 years’ experience in the automotive and fleet sector with a number of leading national companies, said:” I’m absolutely thrilled and delighted to be shortlisted for these prestigious awards, which recognise the crucial roles that women play within modern business.”

A recent PwC Transportation Report found that companies with the largest number of women at board level outperformed those with the least by 26% in terms of return on invested capital, proving that female talent is crucial for business.
