Earlier this week, The Federation of Engine Remanufacturers announced that their Annual General Meeting, or AGM will take place on Saturday the 7th October. This meeting is expected to take place at the IAAF offices in Birmingham.

The Federation are celebrating their 80th anniversary this year and has worked over the course of the year to add new members and held a range of successful regional meetings. At these meetings, the FER have worked to ensure that their members are aware of the Federation’s activity as well as provided an opportunity for members to get together and discuss key policy.

The news that the UK government is planning to ban sole petrol and diesel engine cars from 2040 is one of the changes upcoming that could affect the FER and its members. Therefore, this topic will be referred to at the AGM in October, with the FER suggesting changes that could help members prepare for the future.

The Federation has been encouraging its members to attend the AGM in order to get the most up to date information about FER’s activities from the past year as well as having the opportunity to discuss and influence the work that will be carried out by the Federation over the course of the next 12 months. Any members wanting to attend the event at the IAAF offices in Birmingham need to contact the FER. On the 7th October after registration, the event will be started by Elring, the leading parts supplier who will be conducting a presentation.

With the constant development of technology and technological solutions, the FER have had to expand their remit as they have attracted the attention of companies that are involved in the wider remanufacturing sector such as reconditioning turbos and other major units. Changes in legislation has also pushed the FER to change and the Federation will continue to adapt in order to offer the best service for their members.
