EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, is partnering with DHL Global Forwarding, to deliver its annual awards this year, adding to the already impressive line-up of sponsors. DHL Global Forwarding will be coming on board to sponsor this year’s Business Growth Award, one of eight ‘gongs’ handed out to innovative manufacturers at the prestigious EEF/Aldermore Future Manufacturing Awards.
The Business Growth Award goes to the UK manufacturer judged to have most successfully implemented a dynamic growth strategy within the last three years. Manufacturers and supply chain businesses of all sizes are urged to enter and celebrate their success which, DHL Global Forwarding, with its strong track record in supporting growing businesses, is ideally placed to judge.
The move marks the first time that DHL Global Forwarding has sponsored the awards, but it will be in good company, joining other industry heavyweights such as Aldermore and Siemens, and partners such as UKTI, the Institute for Manufacturing and the International Festival for Business.
In total, there are eight different awards, allowing the best of British manufacturing to showcase their achievements in a range of key areas. These include exporting, investment in skills and training, designing and delivering a smart product to market, reducing environmental impact, health and safety, operational excellence and developing partnerships with education. There are also awards for outstanding apprentices.
Terry Scuoler, CEO of EEF, says: “Despite its dynamism, versatility and growth, our sector is full of unsung heroes who do not get the recognition they deserve. These awards are about shining a light on their achievements and celebrating the ongoing success and contribution of British manufacturing – we are delighted to have DHL Global Forwarding on board.”
Steve Barker, UK CEO of DHL Global Forwarding, says: “We are pleased to be sponsoring the Business Growth Award for the first time this year. This is a particularly exciting award celebrating manufacturers’ determination, drive and ambition to grow and we look forward to seeing high-quality entries from across the UK that represent Britain’s thriving manufacturing sector.”
