Xplore Dundee Reveals Its Electric Bus Route

Xplore Dundee’s brand new, electric bus route will launch just after the opening of the V&A. Service 360 will begin running on Monday, the 17th of September, two days after the new museum opens its doors to the public.

The brand new route will boast the city’s first electric bus, operating every 20 minutes around the city centre, stopping at major points of interest as well as key travel connections.

“Dundee is already the electric capital of the UK – now Xplore Dundee is investing in the city’s first ever all-electric bus,” said Managing Director Christine McGlasson. “Visitors coming to Dundee for the first time will step out of the train station to see a brand-new, quiet, emissions-free vehicle ready to take them around town. And for Dundonians, the new City Circle service 360 will provide a better-connected city by opening up the waterfront and linking the bus and train stations.”

Service 360’s route will take in the railway station and bus station, and link visitors and local people with important cultural attractions, including McManus Galleries, Verdant Works and, of course, the new V&A Dundee.

Christine McGlasson also said that they are actively seeking partners for this new and exciting transport venture: “We’re welcoming discussions with any business or organisation which is interested to join us in launching and shaping this innovative project. We believe it’ll be a real boost for the city centre and the final piece of the puzzle for the Waterfront, helping visitors to navigate the city and to connect all of the new attractions in that area with the rest of the city centre.”
