Woods has beaten off competition from coach tour operators from across the UK to win two major tourism awards at the National Coach Tourism Awards 2015.
The awards, held on 14th May at West Midland Safari Park near Bewdley in Worcestershire, and organised by trade magazine Coach Monthly, recognises excellence and innovation across coach tour operators, tourist destinations and attractions, and industry suppliers.
Woods won the awards for Day Excursion Programme of the Year which recognises the day excursion programme that demonstrates innovation and creativity, and Coach Tour Operator of the Year – Medium Fleet, which recognises the coach tour operator that has demonstrated a commitment to quality, innovation and training, and has an excellent industry reputation.
Roger Elsmere, Managing Director of Woods, two of the directors and the Excursions co-ordinator, Melonie Wiseman, collected the awards in front of more than 400 tourism industry professionals.
Commenting on the company’s success, he says: “These awards recognise our commitment to customer service, and improved quality of our products through constant examination of what we do and how we do it. Without the dedication and support of all the staff at Woods, we would not be where we are today.”
The awards presentation was hosted by the editor of Coach Monthly magazine, Stuart Render, and writer, comedian and actress Helen Lederer.
“The National Coach Tourism Awards is the only national awards scheme to focus specifically on the coach tourism community,” says Stuart Render. “Woods Travel were up against the best of the best coach tour operators in the country so this is therefore a well-deserved and a significant achievement. Our winners are at the forefront in delivering excellence across all sectors of the industry, helping to raise the quality of customer service and quality across coach operators, destinations, visitor attractions and tourism industry suppliers.”
