- Transport group has 15 finalists at national awards
- Five Stagecoach employees in the running for top awards
- Finalists in categories covering environment, unsung heroes and putting passengers first
Transport operator Stagecoach is in the running for a host of top honours at the 2015 UK Bus Awards.
Britain’s biggest bus operator has 15 finalists, including two employees nominated in each the unsung heroes and young manager of the year categories. Winners will be announced at a London awards ceremony to be held in November.
Stagecoach Group has been nominated in the Environment category for delivering a greener fuel blend.
Stagecoach Manchester has again been nominated as a finalist in the Top City Operator category which means that they are also in the running for the UK Bus Operator of the Year Award. They were previous winners of both awards in 2013.
Stagecoach South West has been nominated as a finalist in the Top Shire Operator category.
Six Stagecoach employees are shortlisted for awards at the event. Daren Coppin from Stagecoach London is nominated as Engineer of the Year and Yvette Singh is nominated as Top London Bus Driver.
Bob Jackson and Clive Norman from Stagecoach South and West respectively have been nominated for the Unsung Heroes Award as has Neil Rettie.
Laura Smith from Stagecoach North East and Martin Gibbon from Stagecoach South have both been nominated in the Young Manager of the Year category.
Stagecoach London’s Bromley depot is in the running for the London Bus Garage of the Year award and Stagecoach North East’s Sunderland Depot is the company’s entry in the Top National Bus Depot category.
In the Making Buses a Better Choice category, Stagecoach Yorkshire has been shortlisted for improving services on the Pontefract Corridor in Barnsley and Stagecoach East Scotland’s Coastrider services has been shortlisted for the Putting Passengers First category.
In Yorkshire, the Stagecoach team has been shortlisted for the Award for Sustained Marketing Excellence for creating and sustaining passenger growth in Sheffield.
