Compass Travel will be launching Ticketer’s passenger App – ZipTrip – after taking delivery of the latest Ticketer Electronic Ticket Machines (ETMs). The South East operator is already using 83 contactless ETMs, and a hand-held unit for queue busting at busy locations across the region.
As Ticketer’s own passenger App, ZipTrip provides passengers with real time information, such as live departure times, the location of their bus, detailed route information and how to find their nearest bus stop.
“We decided to place our business with Ticketer as they offer excellent customer service and support. We were looking for a forward-thinking company who could adapt to our business needs as well as providing our passengers with up to date service information via the ZipTrip app,” said Michael Bishop, General Manager of Compass Travel.
ZipTrip displays information that is fed directly from the ETMs on each Compass Travel vehicle. The real time data is combined with timetable information to provide accurate predictions of bus arrival times at each stop.
“ZipTrip is becoming a vital tool for bus passengers. It makes using the bus so much easier, as passengers can plan their journeys more accurately. It also means no more waiting at bus stops because passengers can see exactly where their bus is and what time it will arrive at their bus stop,” said John Clarfelt, Managing Director of Ticketer.
Thanks to ETMs, Compass Travel is now able to accept contactless payments on all of its routes, as well as provide QR code-printed tickets that speed up boarding and significantly reduce fraud.
The ZipTrip App is available to download on all Apple or Google Play devices.
Established in 2009 and entering the market in 2010, Ticketer inspires the personalisation of public transportation, through market leading ticketing products that are customised for operators, and individualised to the lives that passengers lead.
