All eyes were on this incredible truck when the CMPE held their annual meeting in Southampton, thanks to a local company.
Pro Mech Ground Support Systems, which has been based in Fareham for 16 years, decided to sponsor the annual event as this year it came to Southampton.
And they were delighted when they were given the opportunity to display their new TGS 26.400 beavertail with crane outside the venue.
Pro Mech buys all their trucks from MAN Truck & Bus and have just increased their fleet and were delighted to have the opportunity to showcase the latest addition.
Matthew England, spokesman for Pro Mech, said: “We are more than happy to be sponsoring the CMPE AGM, plus it is great to be given the opportunity to put our truck on a plinth in front of the Grand Harbour Hotel, which is such a striking building.
“Our beavertail was there for three days and created a real stir. A lot of people commented on it which was great. I think a lot of CMPE members will use MAN trucks. We are always impressed with the MAN product, they are incredibly reliable and we have a good relationship with the company.”
The vehicles have been supplied under the MAN Trucks To Go scheme (TTG), which significantly reduces lead times for customers and cuts the need to wait for a factory build slot for their vehicle.
Aaron Tamplin, sales executive with MAN Truck & Bus UK, based in Totton, said: “By building trucks with bodies in advance it dramatically reduces the waiting time. A vehicle like this would normally take maybe up to six months to build and the customer has only had to wait two months, which is great. Our trucks are obviously on the road all over the world, but to be in the spotlight like this is fantastic. The hotel is an incredible building – and it was an incredible truck parked in front of it!
