On March 26th, the summer timetable for Munich Airport came into effect. This means that the airlines have planned a total of 250,000 flights that go to 238 destinations in 68 countries. There will also be journeys to 17 German Airports and 171 medium-range routes that will be available to 50 intercontinental destinations. This summer timetable will run until Saturday 28th October 2017.
Because of the extensive range of flights on offer, passengers that are travelling form Munich airport will be able to choose from a variety of long-haul destinations. There will also be Lufthansa and United Airlines flights to San Francisco running from the end of May to early September. Condor will also be adding flights to Las Vegas and Seattle to this timetable in May and June.
For the start of this timetable, the Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings will have four of their aircraft stationed at Munich Airport and travelling to 31 different European destinations. The main focus of flights from Munich will be to Italy, Greece and Croatia. Flights will be available from Munich to Brindisi, Cagliari and Lamezia Terme in Italy. There will also be flights to Catania and Palermo in Sicily. The Greek destinations Eurowings will fly to include Chania, Kavala, and Heraklion as well as Thessaloniki. Other Greek islands will be accessible with Eurowings including Corfu, Kos, Mykonos and Rhodes. Passengers will be able to fly from Munich to the Spanish island of Ibiza as well as major European cities including Amsterdam, London, Paris, Edinburgh, Naples and Rome. A new destination that has been added by Lufthansa is Nantes, in the west of France.
The British carrier bmi Regional will be among other carriers that are also be expanding the flights as part of the Summer timetable. bmi Regional will offer flights to Rostock, Brno, and Norköpping. The British Aircraft company will also be adding flights to Lublin in Poland.
