Priority Freight Adds New German Airfreight Department

Priority Freight has set up a new, dedicated emergency airfreight department at its office in Willich, Germany in order to enhance operations in central Europe.

The department is located less than 25km from Düsseldorf International Airport and will offer the time critical logistics firm’s latest IT system.

Priority Freight group managing director Neal Williams said: “By opening a specialist airfreight office, we are now fully-equipped to manage the increased demands of our German and international clients’ requirements for global express airfreight solutions to and from Germany and the rest of the world.”

“In addition to strengthening our airfreight services managed at our London Heathrow and Madrid Airport control towers, the investment reinforces our commitment to the German market and growing our business in the heart of Europe.”

Priority Freight has hired Bernd Thewissen to oversee development of the new emergency airfreight operations in Willich. Thewissen has previously worked for DHL Danzas Air & Ocean, Hartrodt and Geodis.

“This upgrade to the office and its solution offering will see the German office follow the growth path of the English, Spanish and Polish offices,” commented Sven Malmberg, operations manager at Priority Freight Europe.

Company revenues exceeded €65m during the 2014/5 financial year. In 2015, the company completed over 100,000 expedited shipments.
