The skies themselves were the limit on Friday the 27th of January for IWM Duxford, who saw the culmination of several plans and thumb biting preparations, when they were set to oversee a large number of events to do with aviation models. This will have allowed for viewers and bystanders alike to experience IWM Duxford’s extremely vast plethora of exhibits and models. The day was sure set to be a success and a fantastic opportunity for aeroplane and aviating enthusiasts to enjoy themselves and witness the success of the exhibitions.
This is not the only initiative to be organized by IWM Duxford this year, as the site will also be hosting the Duxford Airfield Safety Day. This will take place on Saturday the 8th April and will include members from the Aviation Safety Council in order to enable members of the public fascinated by the skies to discover the different sorts of ways in which they can ensure the safeguarding of themselves and their aircraft. It will also be an opportunity for the local community to witness the pleasures and history of flying, including various exhibitions on the historic Battle of Britain that took place in the pivotal year of 1940 between the RAF and the German Luftwaffe.
Furthermore, June and August will see various bonus days in which aircraft enthusiasts will be able to mingle and associate with like-minded individuals. There are of course charges to all of these events that will range between five and eight pounds, and individual members of the public will need to display various permits to their aircraft and will need to be prepared for some serious quality time with air flying buddies to ensure that the day is a success. It is plainly evident that the events organized by IWM Duxford often receive a huge, popular and extensive fan base, and this will ensure that interest in the different aspects of aviation will be ensured for the future years that are to come.
