CBI Comments On Airports Commission
The CBI today commented on the work of the Airports Commission, as Heathrow and Gatwick submit their revised plans.
Nicola Walker, CBI Director for Business Environment, said:
“As shown by the quality of the submissions, this rigorous process will deliver a credible option for airport expansion. It’s important when Sir Howard makes his final proposal in 2015 that politicians are ready to make a decision.
“Direct flights open doors to new trade, but with capacity in the south-east running low and all airports set to be full as early as 2025, the UK is already starting to slip behind competitors.
“We want to see all political parties commit to the findings of the Davies Commission – the UK cannot afford to kick the can yet further down the road on aviation.”
