Allport Cargo Services (ACS) has made a series of key changes to bolster the senior management team of its Airfreight Division as it embarks upon a journey of growth.
Martin Brown and Sean Smith join ACS Airfreight with immediate effect, whilst David Ward has taken the decision to retire. He will step down as Airfreight Operations Director in June 2015.
Following 42 years with the company, Ward will ensure the smooth transition of responsibilities to Brown, who will take the reins as Airfreight Operations Director upon Ward’s retirement.
Brown joins ACS Airfreight following eight years with DHL Global Forwarding, having also held executive positions at BAX Global.
Smith will take the post of Business Development Director at ACS Airfreight. He comes to ACS from Kerry Logistics, where he headed up the Southern UK region. Previously, Smith served as managing director of Teamwork prior to its acquisition.
Steve Williams, Executive Director at Allport Cargo Services’ Airfreight Division, comments: “The appointments ensure that we have the right senior management team in place to guide the Airfreight team to new heights and deliver upon growth targets. Martin and Sean are welcome additions to the team and I am looking forward to working alongside them both as we take Allport forward to the next level.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to personally thank David Ward for his substantial contribution to the business and wish him well for his retirement. David has made a huge impact over the past 42 years and he has played a significant role in building the Airfreight division into what it is today.”
