Air Partner Freight Moves 250 Tonnes Of Cosmetics From Paris To New York

Air Partner Freight is pleased to announce that it has worked with an international logistics company to complete an urgent charter of 250 tonnes of cosmetics from Paris to New York.

Air Partner’s client urgently needed to transport 1,200 non-stackable pieces (1,500 cubic metres) from Paris to New York, to an urgent deadline for an industry giant.

Air Partner worked quickly to provide an innovative solution; using an IAG Cargo 747-8 to operate three back-to-back flights in order to move the cargo as quickly and efficiently as possible. All the cargo arrived on time before the first flight, and then handling agent staff worked hard using 46 Unit Load Devices per flight to ensure that the flights ran to time. Double crews were present at each airport to load and off-load the cargo, as there was a 3 hour time limit for this at each end.

Thierry Zemouli, Freight Manager France, said, “As speed was crucial for this charter, the French team worked quickly to find a unique solution. While our competitors had suggested using four Boeing 747-400 flights to clear the cargo, we proposed using three 747-8 flights – an innovative solution, and one which best fitted the client’s needs by using three legs rather than four. We were delighted to provide such a reliable and original solution, and our client received a timely and efficient service.”
