, the global IT company announced last week that they have an agreement with JR Technologies in order to create a new joint approach to meeting the needs of the New Distribution Capability. The partnership should help to meet the needs of the airline industry. This approach to managing the New Distribution Capability demands is the first of its kind. T is thought that the combination of the JRT offer management system and Unisys’ AirCore® Order Manager™ will be able to offer airlines a flexible and fast service that can be used for retail and servicing purposes.

The New Distribution Capability, or NDC, was created by The International Air Transport Association. The capability works to create new transmission standards in order to deal with the limits to distribution in the industry currently. The NDC works in distribution limitations including product differentiation and time-to market.

The combined approach by Unisys and JRT will mix two different solutions that are needed in order for airline companies to adopt the NDC. The system will allow airlines to create, communicate and manage their product offerings. Airlines are looking into NDC systems more and more therefore it is important for them to have an order management system to create robust full offer servicing as opposed to a more generic system that only offers retail order storage and tracking design.
