CityJet Founder To Rejoin As Chairman

CityJet, the independent regional airline, today announced that its founder, Pat Byrne, is to rejoin the Board as Chairman.

Pat Byrne founded the airline in 1993 and was its Chief Executive for seven years until the carrier was sold to Air France. He returns to the Board as Chairman to replace Peter Oncken

Peter Oncken will remain on the board.

Jeremy Barnes, CEO of Falko, which recently completed a sales and leaseback arrangement with the airline for seven AVRO JR85 aircraft, has also been appointed to the Board.

Peter Oncken said “It was a great pleasure to chair the board of CityJet the last 9 months. The restructuring after the separation is on track and the recent refinancing deal signed before Christmas put the airline in a unique position to take advantage of new opportunities in the regional market.”

Pat Byrne said “I am delighted to return CityJet at the most exciting time in its development.”
