British Airways’ in-flight entertainment system (IFE) benefits now from a selection of festive content, including new Christmas films, TV show episodes and audio. The ‘Festive Cheer’ category features up to 40 new films, TV show episodes, audio books and music CDs.
The two most popular Christmas films onboard last year: ‘The Holiday’ and ‘Elf’, will return alongside ‘Gremlins’, ‘Home Alone 2: Lost in New York’, ‘Scrooged’ and ‘Miracle on 34th Street’.
Television episodes will include ‘The Vicar of Dibley Christmas Special’, ‘Nigella: At My Table Christmas Special 2017’ and festive music includes carols from The Choir of King’s College Cambridge.
“The festive season is a special time for customers and this new channel should help them to feel particularly Christmassy on our flights. Alongside popular film favourites, we’ve also got hilarious comedy, interesting documentaries, and rousing carols. There is something for everyone,” said Carolina Martinoli, British Airways’ director of brand and customer experience.
British Airways will also be serving Christmas meals on flights as the day approaches.
The airline has been investing £6.5 billion in its customers by purchasing new cabins in its Boeing 777 aircraft operating out of Gatwick. The new cabins feature a Panasonic inflight entertainment system which has been updated with larger HD screens, doubling from six to 12 inches in World Traveller Plus and increased from six to 10 inches in World Traveller.
