Air Partner, a leading provider of air charter services to governments, corporates and high net worth individuals, has received a large number of aircraft charter enquiries following the earthquake in Nepal on 25 April 2015. The Company is looking at options for various governments, NGOs and aid agencies as part of the rescue mission to help the 6,500 people who are believed to have been injured, as well as the numerous foreign nationals stranded in the country. The earthquake is the worst to have hit Nepal in over 80 years, and more than 3,000 people have lost their lives.
Richard Smith, Director of Freight at Air Partner, commented: “Since the earthquake hit Nepal on Saturday, our Freight, Commercial Jets and Emergency Planning teams have been working around the clock to provide charter solutions to move search and rescue teams, shelter and medicines to Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. On behalf of a wide range of NGO’s and several governments, we are working hard to support the international relief efforts using our extensive experience in managing passenger and cargo charters in the most challenging environments. Our thoughts are with the friends and families of those who did not survive the disaster.”
