Air Charter Service Welcomes First External Investors

Air Charter Service Welcomes First External Investors

Air Charter Service has announced that it has welcomed aboard new investment from Alcuin Capital Partners as the company looks to accelerate its plans for growth.

The investment will see Alcuin purchase a minority stake in the business and provide a platform for a strategy of further growth through acquisition.

CEO of Air Charter Service, Justin Bowman, commented: “The fact that this company has grown from the basement of a house to the largest charter brokerage in the world is a huge achievement and testament to our amazing team and corporate culture.

“However, we are still an ambitious organisation. Our growth to date has been entirely organic and whilst we will continue to follow those strategies that have been successful in the past, we wish to accelerate our expansion through capital investments in both technology and through acquisitions of complementary businesses.

“Alcuin brings to the table not just the access to capital but, more importantly, the expertise in corporate acquisition strategy, which we believe will be invaluable when implementing our plans for growth.”

Mark Storey, Co-founder of Alcuin Capital Partners, added: “Air Charter Service is a leader in its field with a strong track record for growth. Their plans going forward are exciting and we are looking forward to working with their management team as they implement them.”

Air Charter Service was formed in 1990 by Chairman Chris Leach in his basement, and now employs more than 350 staff throughout the world.

It is a global company with 20 worldwide offices, not ‘UK-based’, with offices spanning six continents offering private jet, commercial airliner and cargo aircraft charters.

The company’s revenue is in excess of half a billion dollars and they arrange more than 10,000 charters every year and was voted Cargo Charter Broker of the Year at the ACW World Cargo Awards 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, voted Charter Broker of the Year at the Payload Asia Awards 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 as well as being awarded Charter Broker of the Year by Air Cargo News in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
