Aeroflot Named Best European Airline

Aeroflot has been named as the best airline in Europe at the prestigious Business Traveller Russia & CIS Awards.

Russia’s flag carrier also took first place in the Best Business-Class on Mid-Range Flights and Best Airline in Russia and CIS categories, fighting off competition from rivals such as Air France, KLM, Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines.

Girogio Callegari, Aeroflot’s Deputy CEO for Strategy and Alliances, commented: “It is the first time that the Business Traveller Awards have taken place in Russia and we are therefore especially glad that Aeroflot took top prizes in three nominations. Being named Europe’s best airline is the result of our consistent focus on service and substantial investment in this area of our business.

“Aeroflot not only maintains its leading positions in expert ratings, but now has also received worldwide passenger recognition as Europe’s best airline.”

The Business Traveller Awards were established by Business Traveller magazine, the leading magazine for frequent flyers, and have been held every year since 1988 and was this year held in Russia for the first time.

The Business Traveller Awards are some of the most coveted in the industry, primarily because of their impartiality, with winners determined by a readers’ poll.

Once again, the awards underscore Aeroflot’s status as one of the leading airlines in European and throughout the world.

Aeroflot has maintained a constant focus on improving the quality of service, both in the air and on the ground.

This year, Russia’s leading airline was awarded Four Star Airline Status by UK consulting agency Skytrax, the leading source of airline reviews and ratings in the world.

Aeroflot was also named Best Airline in Eastern Europe for the fifth time at the Skytrax World Airline Awards.

Meanwhile, Aeroflot has taken delivery of its four new aircraft including two Airbus A320s, an Airbus A321 and a Boeing B737-800 aircraft.
