Woodland Boxes Clever As Cepac Traffic Grows

ESSEX-BASED global logistics company Woodland Group has signed a new, multi-year agreement with Cepac, a long-standing client.

Cepac, a Rotherham-based corrugated and retail-ready packaging manufacturer, part of the HSA Group, has entrusted Woodland with its Contract Logistics needs since 2005.

In the space of just over a year, Cepac acquired two manufacturing plants and a Point of Sale Display manufacturer in the North of England, which are now being handled by Woodland Group staff and trucks.

Sean Kirby, from Woodland Group, said: “These new sites were carefully integrated in order to maintain the same service levels as the existing Rotherham operation. Cepac are reaping the operational benefits that can be gained by centralising the overall management of all four sites’ distribution requirements.”

Woodland’s initial contract with Cepac originally covered operations at the manufacturer’s Wath-Upon-Dearne, Rotherham site. In late 2012 and early 2013, the company acquired manufacturing sites in Darlington, Rawcliffe and Doncaster. A process of integration followed each acquisition, bolstering traffic handled by Woodland for the packaging manufacturer.

Woodland operates a substantial fleet for Cepac across the sites, delivering in excess of 10,000 pallets a week on a 24/7 basis.

Cepac is the UK’s leading independent corrugated packaging supplier, providing a modern, smart, state-of-the-art alternative to conventional corrugated. Cepac is owned by the HSA Group, which has diversified and invested in operations around the world, covering a wide spectrum of activities.
