One of Scotland’s leading hauliers has taken delivery of four brand new MAN Euro 6 tractor units with LX cabs.
As part of a £2 million investment in new equipment, Ian Craig Haulage received four MAN 26.480 6×2 TGS tractor units last month and are looking forward to taking delivery of four more vehicles later this year.
Based in Larbert, the trucks will operate throughout Scotland and England, transporting construction materials far and wide.
Ian Craig Haulage Director Kevin Craig said: “Transporting bricks and timber has always been a challenge and with the recent upturn in the building and construction industry, we knew we needed to invest in vehicles that we could truly rely on.
Craig says they chose MAN because of their overall reputation for cost saving.
“We’ve been working with MAN for four years now and have been impressed with every vehicle we’ve taken. We’ve found that time and time again, MAN have exceeded our requirements and given us the most in terms of reliability, uptime and fuel economy.”
The company, which operates 68 vehicles, said that this new investment takes the per centage of MAN trucks in their fleet to more than 50 per cent.
“As a haulage company, our main focus is meeting our customer’s needs with cost-effective, reliable vehicles. All of our trucks are 44 tonners with artics and drawbars and the majority of the vehicles operate with the use of brick cranes. In the short time that we’ve had these new trucks they have proven really successful so much so that we can’t wait to receive the remaining four in September.”
Established in 1972, the family run business launched with just one second hand lorry and has since grown into one of Scotland’s leading sources of brick and block haulage.
