Intertruck Launches Commercial Formula For Independent Wholesalers

On 1 November, parts distributor Intertruck will introduce a wholesaler distribution formula called HD PartsCenter – a network of specialized, independent wholesalers of truck and trailer parts. The network will start with six wholesalers, and several other wholesalers are expected to join the programme before the end of the year.

Initially, the programme will be limited to the Netherlands, but expansion across the borders is certainly part of Intertruck’s long-term plans. Sales director Erik Nobel emphasizes that this is not a franchise concept. ‘Our intention is to offer the wholesaler a platform that includes purchasing, marketing and more. The formula combines a wide product mix with technical knowledge and local support. A customer’s decision to do business with an HD PartsCenter is a choice for maintaining optimal availability of their fleet. Moreover, the wholesaler benefits from the shared branding. But this is just the beginning, because we plan to add more services in the future. Training is one of the possibilities we have in mind,’ said Nobel.

The concept is what is referred to as a support programme; in other words, the wholesaler retains their own styling yet is recognizable as part of the network. The centralized marketing activities of this programme will focus on the end user and fleet owner.

‘Every wholesaler has their own local service region,’ says Nobel. ‘Our intention is to help the wholesaler get the most out of their knowledge of the local market. With Intertruck, the wholesaler has a partner that can deliver both the original equipment brands and competitively priced, Intertruck-brand alternatives.’
