Road, rail and sea logistics specialist CLdN is increasing capacity for freight on its North Sea routes to and from eastern England. The additional capacity will be provided by the charter of the M/V Tundraland, a modern ro-ro vessel with a cargo capacity of 2,800 lane metres.
The vessel has been introduced into the CLdN network this week, allowing increased tonnage to be redeployed onto the Zeebrugge & Rotterdam/UK routes. The company is also providing a service delivering cargo from Zeebrugge to the Port of Tilbury in response to increasing customer demand for unaccompanied freight services to and from the UK, post-Brexit.
“We have seen a significant increase in demand for CLdN’s unaccompanied freight and multimodal logistics solutions. This charter provides an agile response to customer demand and will enable CLdN to explore new possibilities linking mainland Europe with destinations in eastern England. We will communicate precise routing and schedule information in the coming weeks based on customer requirements,” commented Gary Walker, CLdN Chief Operating Officer of RoRo.
The roots of CLdN date back to 1928. Founded as a trading company, the business quickly evolved into a shipping group, offering worldwide shipping and agency services.
Today, CLdN focuses on shortsea RoRo operations, port operations and door-to-door transport. Headquartered in Luxembourg, they operate offices and ports in 12 countries in Europe and Asia. The CLdN group employs almost 4.000 people, helping a variety of clients ship their cargo anywhere in the world.
