From Brussels to Barcelona in 30 minutes – the hyperloop transport system is faster and also more climate-friendly than classic modes of transportation. This is not only changing passenger traffic, but also the transport of goods. Challenges on the way to a large-scale roll-out will be discussed at Hypermotion Frankfurt from 14-16 September 2021.
The hyperloop is a transport system that moves people and goods in capsules with high speed through tubes. Unlike conventional trains, the capsules do not travel on rails, but rather in a vacuum. Magnetic fields are used both to drive the trains and to stop them. This eliminates friction, allowing hyperloops to reach speeds of up to 1,200 kilometres an hour. It sounds like something out of science fiction, but it may soon be reality. Virgin Hyperloop has already conducted the first successful test runs with passengers in the Las Vegas desert. Hamburger Hafen Logistik AG (HHLA) and HyperloopTT are working on the Hyperport and collaborate to develop key components for a hyperloop transport system. The technology is important for logistics companies in an age of same-day delivery, as goods can be transported quickly from A to B. But there are still some questions to be answered before hyperloops can be rolled out on a large scale: What is the best way to integrate hyperloop technology into existing transport systems? How can we create an international infrastructure? And, finally: How can their social relevance be increased?
Hyperloop is a focus theme of Hypermotion Frankfurt
These questions will be answered at this year’s Hypermotion Frankfurt. The revolutionary transport system will have its own stage at the trade with the debut of the Hyperloop Conference on 16 September 2021. The conference brings together international players from the hyperloop ecosystem: transport companies, tube manufacturers, vacuum technology suppliers, port operators and infrastructure firms. A series of panel discussions, masterclasses, speed networking and high-quality keynotes offers the industry the opportunity to find out about the latest developments and share ideas on the challenges that must be overcome for widespread implementation. Exhibitors from this field include the SNCF Group, Zeleros, HyperloopTT, TÜV SÜD Industrie Service GmbH, EIT InnoEnergy SE, Leybold, Swissloop, Tata Steel, Nevomo, Swisspod Technologies and the VAT Group.
Other focus themes will be alternative drive technology, urban logistics and mobility concepts and intelligent supply chains. From 14 to 16 September 2021, the multimodal innovation platform Hypermotion Frankfurt will bring together all modes of transport to find new business models for traffic, infrastructure, mobility and logistics. The concept features a conventional exhibition that shares many characteristics with a conference. The trade fair is supplemented by tech talks, panel discussions and start-up pitches. The event is aimed not only at major companies and policymakers, but also at SMEs, entrepreneurs and investors.
