SNAP, a company providing all-in-one smart payment and parking solutions for the HGV industry, has delivered more than 100 care packages in its ‘Trucking Legends’ campaign that celebrates HGV drivers who have gone above and beyond during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Haulage industry has been nominating ‘Trucking Legends’ via SNAP’s website and Facebook page throughout May 2020, giving them the chance to win a well-deserved care package and a free week of SNAP parking as a reward for their efforts.
Nominations have followed a theme of drivers and office staff putting in extra time and effort to meet high demand during such an unusual time. The delivery of goods and services to supermarkets, hospitals and pharmacies has supported key workers and the availability of essential supplies throughout the crisis. Nominations for employers have also been submitted, where employees feel management has gone above and beyond in providing their staff with PPE and other support.
The four weekly campaign winners:
- Mars-Jones Transport, the logistics, warehousing and pallet distribution company, that manages a fleet of 30 based in North Wales and Deeside, was the first winner of the campaign, receiving 30 care packages.
- Exodus Transport has been delivering to distribution centres on a daily basis for supermarkets nationwide. A total of 20 care packages were sent out to Exodus, and its affiliated companies, Port Logistics Ltd and HJL Haulage Ltd.
- Wolverhampton-based JIF Ltd, which has a fleet of five. Its nomination was safely delivering medical supplies and food to and from the EU.
- Atherstone-based Ball Trucking Ltd, a haulage company covering the UK and Europe has now received its 40 care packages.
Alan Ball, at Ball Trucking says they were delighted to have been named as a Trucking Legend by SNAP and recognised for their continued efforts during the pandemic:
“Our drivers have been working around the clock to supply manufacturers and supermarkets across the country, as well as our NHS Thank You trailers that we put together to support NHS Heroes and key workers – and have been so well received by the community. It has been wonderful to be included and for our drivers to receive the care packages.”
Mark Garner, SNAP’s Managing Director adds: “We are pleased that the campaign has been well received by those in the Haulage industry and we are delighted to be in a position where we can celebrate and recognise the industry’s hard work and efforts during this time.”
