DSV have announced the launch of a new full load service between UK and Spain. There is a demand for solutions that are not only cheaper than conventional road movement but also offer a greener alternative. The rail option supports this requirement with a daily service between Calais and Boulou on the French / Spanish border.
Offering a full door to door service, on arrival at Boulou, DSV will collect the trailer from the train and deliver directly to the customer. The service is initially launched to facilitate the movement between the South and Midlands in the UK to Barcelona area (post codes 08,17,25,43).
“We have trialled the route over the past few weeks and as we continuously monitor our carbon footprint, emissions and energy efficiencies, it is evident that utilising rail will make a positive impact on the environment as the same time we can offer our customer a better price. Today we officially launch the service as daily,” said Denise Clarke – Senior Director.

This service is in addition to DSV’s standard driver accompanied and its double manned express driver
accompanied services for when time matters.
