Pentalver Invests In Fleet Upgrade
Leading transport logistics provider Pentalver continues its ambitious investment programme to update its vehicle fleet. The company invested in 110 Euro 5 trucks during 2013 and has just commenced a tender process for a further 30 Euro 6 trucks, due to be delivered in Q3 2014.
Pentalver’s recent vehicle purchases reaffirm its ongoing commitment to fleet regeneration, continually reducing its carbon emissions, whilst improving reliability to its customers.
Chris Lawrenson, Managing Director of Pentalver, says “Our recent fleet upgrade means 77% of our fleet are new vehicles, enabling us to operate at our peak and provide clients with an outstanding delivery service. Our current fleet upgrade is further evidence of our future-proofing investment programme, which also includes improvements to our container handling plant as well as the infrastructure capabilities at several of our sites.”
Pentalver has begun a tender process to replace 12 container handlers across the business, this investment will total over £2.5 million and again shows the company’s commitment to servicing their customers with the most modern, reliable and economic equipment on the market.
Chris continues, “Whilst our business strategy is designed to ensure we retain our leading position in the UK logistics sector, we are also delighted to be reaping the benefits of previous investments such as our telematics technology. By investing in fleet replacing programmes, training our drivers in SAFED techniques and closer monitoring of our work patterns, we have seen our average mile per gallon rate increase from 7.8 mpg to 8.5 mpg, resulting in annual fuel savings of over £500k across our fleet.
“With green credentials becoming an increasingly important element of doing business, Pentalver is vigilant to the importance of operating to recognised environmental management best practice, and the addition of Euro 6 vehicles to our fleet will assist in our efforts to both reduce our emissions and fuel consumption.”
