Nottingham-based Frank Key Builders Merchants has introduced a Loadmac 825 truck mounted forklift into their fleet, increasing the flexibility of their delivery operations.
For over 100 years, Frank Key has delivered quality building materials, timber, landscaping, kitchens and bathrooms across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. With the aim to service customers as efficiently as possible, Transport Manager for the Frank Key Group, Neil Lunn, began looking for alternative delivery options for their products.
“We wanted to provide the best possible service to all our customers, but there are certain areas and environments where using a crane for delivery can be very difficult, sometimes impossible. After a conversation with our local dealer we decided to trial one of the Loadmac 825 forklifts,” explained Neil.
Designed and manufactured in their factory in Ross on Wye, Loadmac is the only truck mounted forklift built in Britain. Sold throughout the globe, Atlas Cranes is the sales and service agent for Loadmac in the UK, giving Loadmac customers an unrivalled level of nationwide support and back-up. This machine was sold to Frank Key by their local Atlas Cranes UK agent, Plant Equipment.
The new Loadmac 825 taken by Frank Key features on the ground mounting, true one-side offload and multi-directional steering – making it a versatile solution when working in environments where a crane is not suitable.
“Having a truck fitted with a forklift opens up a completely new chapter for us and for our customers. It offers more flexibility and means we can do more varied loads. We have only had the forklift since August and will be seeing how it goes before ordering more, but it appears to be going well so far,” added Neil.
Frank Key’s truck mounted forklift is now in service delivering building materials to customers throughout the East Midlands.
“We get a lot of hauliers and aggregate suppliers come to us with the same problem as Frank Key. Some roads are not designed to fit a full-size truck while others don’t offer the space needed to operate a crane. The Loadmac gives transport operators a versatile, high-performance and fuel-efficient solution for any delivery situation and we wish Frank Key all the best with their new Loadmac,” concluded Mark Hignett, Managing Director of Loadmac.
