Wren Kitchens Wins Hat-Trick at Motor Transport Awards
From pioneering driver training to industry-leading delivery performance, Wren Kitchens & Bedrooms secured an impressive hat-trick at this year’s prestigious Motor Transport Awards, winning Home Delivery Operator of the Year, Operational Excellence and the Training award.
The triple victory recognises Wren’s commitment to innovation, investment and continuous improvement, demonstrating how its vertically integrated transport operation is setting new benchmarks for safety, efficiency and customer service across the logistics industry.
As the UK’s number one kitchen retailer, Wren operates one of the country’s largest privately managed retail transport fleets, with more than 1,000 commercial vehicle assets, 500 directly employed HGV drivers and nine UK depots.
Unlike operators reliant on third-party logistics providers, Wren retains complete control of its delivery network, from manufacturing in its own UK factories to delivering directly into customers’ homes.
Home delivery: More than just moving boxes
For Wren, delivering a kitchen or bedroom is about far more than transporting products from A to B. It is about delivering an integral part of someone’s home, often representing a significant, once-in-a-lifetime investment.
Completing more than 145,000 home deliveries annually, Wren’s specialist two-person delivery teams handle complex, high-value orders with precision and care.
Its Home Delivery Operator of the Year award recognised exceptional service standards, including a 97.9% on-time, in-full delivery rate and an impressive 9.1/10 customer satisfaction score.
Continued investment in driver training, customer communications and specialist home protection equipment has also contributed to a 38% reduction in transit and unloading damage issues, saving more than £725,000.

Operational excellence: Innovation driving performance
Wren’s Operational Excellence Award recognised its ability to combine significant business growth with consistently high standards of safety, compliance and efficiency.
Despite supporting approximately 20% growth in business volumes during 2025, Wren maintained 100% fleet compliance, achieved a 98% first-time MOT pass rate and retained DVSA Earned Recognition status across its depots.
Investment in intelligent transport planning, including Dynamic Planning and Order Pinning technology, has optimised vehicle utilisation and delivery scheduling, reducing road miles by 4% and generating more than £141,000 in annual fuel savings.
With more than £25 million invested in transport assets and health and safety across 2025/26, alongside the introduction of electric trucks and rapid-charging infrastructure, Wren continues to strengthen its operational resilience and environmental performance.
Training: Growing tomorrow’s transport professionals
Recognising that people are fundamental to operational success, Wren has transformed its approach to training through a fully integrated, in-house transport academy.
The Training Award celebrated this innovative approach to tackling industry-wide driver shortages while raising professional standards and creating meaningful career opportunities.
Training more than 500 drivers annually, the academy combines apprenticeships, specialist qualifications and tailored CPC programmes with practical, business-specific development.
The results speak for themselves. Wren’s first three apprenticeship cohorts achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate, with 80% attaining Distinction, compared with previous results of just 46% passing and 7% achieving Distinction.
Over three years, Wren has recruited 90 transport apprentices, while more than 150 drivers have progressed to Class 1 HGV qualifications in just 24 months.
Lee Holmes, Director of Logistics and Transport at Wren Kitchens & Bedrooms, commented:
“Winning three Motor Transport Awards is an incredible achievement and a proud moment for everyone involved in our logistics operation. While we continue to invest in technology, infrastructure and innovation, it’s our people who truly drive our success. These awards are testament to the hard work, dedication and commitment of our entire transport team, who consistently go above and beyond to deliver the highest standards of safety, service and operational excellence. I’m immensely proud of what we’ve achieved together, and these accolades represent thoroughly deserved recognition of the people who make it all possible.”
Driving the future of logistics
Together, these three prestigious awards recognise more than individual achievements. They demonstrate the strength of an integrated transport strategy where investment in people, innovation and operational excellence delivers tangible commercial and customer benefits.
As Wren continues expanding across kitchens, bedrooms, contracts, trade and living spaces, its award-winning logistics operation remains fundamental to its success. For Wren, the ambition is clear: not simply to keep pace with industry standards, but to continually raise them.
