RHA Launch Wellbeing Charter To Drive Lasting Change

RHA Launch Wellbeing Charter To Drive Lasting Change

The RHA (Road Haulage Association) has today (Wednesday 15 July) launched its Wellbeing Charter, a new framework designed to put the health and wellbeing of the UK’s transport and logistics workforce at the heart of the industry’s agenda.

The Charter was unveiled at a launch event in London bringing together operators, stakeholders, policymakers and MPs, giving the sector a platform to discuss the challenges facing its workforce and to commit to practical, shared action on wellbeing.

Built around six pillars: Learning and Development, Mental Wellbeing, Leadership and Resilience, Connecting with Others, Exercise and Physical Health, and Food and Nutrition – the Charter gives operators a clear structure for supporting their people, from mental health partnerships to discounted gym access and peer support networks.

It aims to deliver a million moments of improvement over the next ten years.

Businesses signing up to the Charter will be encouraged to select actions across the six pillars, make public wellbeing pledges, and work towards formal Charter accreditation. Signatories will be able to access supporting resources through a dedicated RHA webpage and display their commitment with an RHA Wellbeing Charter plaque.

Richard Smith, RHA Managing Director, said:

“Wellbeing has to be part of how we future-proof this industry, alongside the environmental and technological changes already underway. The RHA Wellbeing Charter puts us at the front of that conversation, working with members, policymakers and partners to make real, measurable improvements to people’s lives. This launch is just the beginning of that work. And I’d encourage businesses in our sector to get involved.”
