UKWA’s ambitious programme of 8 Warehousing Roadshows across the UK, reflecting the 8 decades since its inception in 1944, culminated on 3 October in Yorkshire, and was hosted by sponsor A-SAFE at their industry-leading R&D facility, Fathom 3.
The series opened in the South West with Howard Tenens’ Stroud facility and included Roadshows in the North West, Midlands, Wales, East Anglia, Republic of Ireland and Scotland, variously hosted by UKWA members Jungheinrich, Wincanton, AB Ports, Port One, Combilift and W.H. Malcolm, all events were sponsored by A-SAFE.
The theme of the 2024 Year of Warehousing Roadshows was to ‘unlock the potential of tomorrow, today’. Industry leading speakers covered topics ranging from property to safety, sustainability to skills, with a focus on regional issues and local market trends.
Commenting on the success of the Roadshows, UKWA CEO Clare Bottle said, “We have been delighted with the number of delegates who attended each event, all of which featured expert insights, lively debate and a relaxed opportunity to network with colleagues. Our generous hosts provided behind the scenes tours of their widely varying facilities, and feedback from those attending has been hugely positive. A big thank you to our sponsors A-SAFE, our generous hosts and the many fascinating speakers who gave their time to share valuable experience and industry knowledge.
Our 2024 Roadshows have been all about building community and supporting our Year of Warehousing mission to promote recognition and appreciation of this vital sector and its importance to the UK economy.”
