BAC Sold One Million Vehicles in One Year

BCA has announced that during the 1,000 vehicle BMW Mega Sale staged at its Perry Barr remarketing centre in March it set a new annual sales record of one million vehicles sold in the UK in one year. The one-millionth vehicle was a 16-plate MINI John Cooper Works 2.0 230 sold by BMW Group, that released £19,100.

“We are delighted that the one millionth vehicle sold by BCA over the past year is a BMW Group vehicle. We have a longstanding and very successful remarketing partnership with BCA and this exceptional result underlines the support for the BMW/MINI brand from BCA’s buyers. Every aspect of the sale was well planned and executed, and the team at BCA Perry Barr pulled out all the stops to ensure our vehicles were prepared and presented to the very highest standards,” said Stewart Hodges, BMW Group Remarketing Operations Manager.

Over 900,000 of the one million vehicles sold by BCA were cars, with the balance represented by light commercial vehicles, motorcycles, caravans and motorhomes, taxis, minibuses and small volumes of trucks, trailers, plant and agricultural equipment. These vehicles are mostly purchased by buyers in the auction hall; however, a significant 28% of them are bought by professional online buyers.

“Not only have we delivered a record breaking volume performance over the past financial year, but we continue to make significant progress enhancing the customer experience at BCA,” commented BCA Chief Commercial Officer, Craig Purvey. “We have won or retained significant levels of business across the dealer, contract hire and leasing segments and maintained our position as the most comprehensive source of used stock for professional buyers.”

BCA Automotive operates the largest fleet of vehicle transporters in the UK with over 800 vehicles, delivering 2.2 million vehicles annually alongside a further 560,000 single vehicle moves carried out by BCA Logistics.
