The performance of the logistics industry has to be celebrated during a time when the economy is under pressure. The Transport Minister, Jesse Norman MP has praised the industry during a presentation at the first annual FTA Logistics Awards. The awards ceremony took place recently in London at the Intercontinental, and Mr. Norman was in attendance to praise the contribution of the sector to the UK economy.
The awards have been organised in order to recognise the achievements of the country’s leading supply chain organisations. The FTA Logistics Awards celebrate supply chain leadership and excellence, and recognise leaders who have made a significant contribution to the industry, either as individuals or as businesses.
The awards were hosted by the FTA Chief Executive, David Wells, who has said that the event showcased the very best of the British industrial delivery and innovation. The FTA is the only organisation that represents all of the logistics industry. This position means that the organisation will be ideally placed to recognise the achievements that have been made by the leaders in this sector. Among the organisations that have been recognised at this awakens ceremony, the leading entertainer host Alistair McGowan and the event support Multimodal were the representatives of all modes of transport which include air, sea and road transport as well as representatives from the industry’s buyer and support sectors.
The logistic sector usually goes unrecognised, however it forms the foundation of so many businesses. Therefore, it is great to see all of those connected to this industry coming together to celebrate the performance of logistics businesses and the contribution that has been made. The members of the FTA supply everything from raw materials for factories to more high-tech devices and medication for hospitals as well as the food for every single supermarket and corner shop.
