Activa Contracts has been working to improve the ‘Tax Guide for Fleets’ app. This app has been improved so that the users will be able to work out whether a cash alternative that has been offered by the user’s employer would actually lead to an increase in their tax bill. The app is a tax calculator that is operated and driven by data. The app allows its users the opportunity to calculate the monthly tax bills that the user would have to pay while using a specific company car.
The app has been updated in order to accommodate the changes that have been put into place in the Spring Budget tax changes. A s part of the budget announcement there were changes to the car salary sacrifice schemes and the car or cash allowance tax rules. Therefore in order for users to be better off, Activa Contracts has added the extra calculation to their app so the user can see if receiving a cash alternative is more expensive.
The improvements to the app have been developed alongside BCF Wessex who is the leading consultants and tax experts in the automotive industry. The app will be able to offer users a breakdown of the details of each corporate and personal tax that are connected to company cars. This level of detail will allow company car users to use the app when they need to check specific factors. The data on the app will also constantly be up to date, meaning that it will be better than paper data source alternatives. Any changes to the tax regulations will be added to the app will be applied to the to the calculations. This means any changes from the November Budget or any emergency budgets that come into place as a consequence of the general election will be incorporated so users of the ‘Tax Guide for Fleets’ app will have the most up to date information at their fingertips.
