Navis, part of the Cargotec Corporation has given an award to PD Ports for its commitment to excellence and innovation. The award has been given in order to recognise the company’s work across the terminal operations at Teesport.

PD Ports has been given the title of Excellence as part of the Navis Inspire Awards ceremony. This Awards ceremony has taken place as a part of this year’s Navis World Annual Conference that took place in San Francisco. The title of Excellence is the highest rank that can be given at the annual awards and PD Ports had to compete with tough competition from around the world in order to claim the title.

This is the second time that PD Ports have been celebrated by Navis. The port logistics company previously received recognition for their ability to implement the system across a variety of unitized platforms. This year the award was given for the use of Navis’ business intelligence dashboards at Teesport.

PD Ports is one of the major port groups in the UK. The business works towards constantly delivering innovation that delivers more efficiency and visibility for their operational platform. PD Ports’ platform is well known for improving vessel productivity as well as helping to reduce the turnaround times of trucks.

The panel of judges at the Navis Inspire Awards thought that PD Ports deserved the title of excellence because their operations that are considered the best on offer and the industry leadership that is shown in the company’s practices. It is vital the PD Ports works in the most efficient way they can, in order to offer the best customer service possible. In order to achieve this the business started to use Navis’ systems in 2013 and since then have carried on making the most of the operating system, and making PD Ports more flexible.
