Descartes Systems: Capabilities of Smartanalysis

A global leader in uniting logistics intensive business in commerce, Descartes Systems Group, has announced enhancements have been made to the already extensive reporting capabilities of Smartanalysis. These enhancements have taken place in order to include the DVSA requirements that are set of transport operators. These requirements are set in order to allow operators to achieve Earned Recognition. The visitors to Multimodal 2017 will be able to get more information about this. The event is taking place on the 4th-6th April at the Birmingham NEC, with stand 8040 set aside for information on the Smartanalysis improvements.

The DVSA announced last year that the Earned Recognition scheme will be used to help road transport operators improve their driver and vehicle compliance. A pilot for the scheme is expected any time now, and will be available for operators that want to achieve an accredited status by Autumn 2017. It is thought that there will be a development in technology-led, proactive and compliance-first approaches to fleet management. This is because new schemes like the DVSA’s should reward compliant operators and give fewer checks in exchange for compliance data. This Earned recognition scheme can help the DVSA focus their resources towards the seriously or serially non-compliant. The operators who are rated as compliant will benefit from this scheme by avoiding roadside checks that lead to delays to the customer and expense. This compliance scheme will focus on two aspects: management of the driver’s hours and the maintenance of the vehicle through the use of smart technology solutions.

The Smartanalysis carried out by Descartes is the leading tachograph analysis and reporting Software. This industry leading software acts as a solution for fleets of varied size, and has been configured in order to meet the DVSA requirements for reporting. This means that the transporters will be able to use the in-depth tachograph and driver’s hours data in order to gain the Earned Recognition status. Managing fleet compliance with electronic data will save money and time in the future as well as reducing the opportunity for human error.
