CML Employees Donate Thousands To Good Causes

A Leicestershire-based logistics company dug deep to hand over more than £18,000 during the last financial year to good causes.

Core Management Logistics, based in Lutterworth, reached out to support a variety of national and local charitable organisations and schools between April 2013 and 2014, which included raising an impressive £7,279 for Children in Need and handing over almost £10,000 to Rainbows Children Hospice in Loughborough.

The majority of funds were raised by CML’s dedicated workforce, made up of about 200 employees, who worked hard to organise and take part in a wealth of sponsorship events and activities in order to reach an overall fundraising total of £13,112.

The sum was further increased thanks to a £5,000 donation directly from CML which was handed over to Rainbows Hospice. The charity provides vital support to life-limited children and their families and relies solely on public donations.

Katie Baxter, events and community manager at Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, said: “We would like to thank CML for its generous donation. Rainbows relies on a huge network of support and without the help of companies like CML, we would not be able to continue running the hospice.”

In total, CML handed over £18,877 to charities during the last financial year, supporting national organisations such as the Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund, Age UK, the RSPCA, St John’s Ambulance, Myeloma UK and Brain Tumour Research as well as groups closer to home such as the Lutterworth Rotary Club and Lutterworth Fire Service and a number of local primary schools.

Graham Copley, Managing Director at CML, commented, “I’m delighted that CML employees showed their fundraising spirit and stepped up to the charity challenge to take part in a wealth of great events over the year and raise thousands of pounds for some very worthy causes.

“I think it’s incredibly important to give back when you can and we’re thrilled that we have been able to support our local community in so many ways over the past year to help it thrive as well as lend a helping hand to a variety of national charities.”

Centrally based at Magna Park in Lutterworth, CML is a privately owned supply-chain services company specialising in retail warehousing and distribution, along with global freight forwarding services. Their 270,000 sq ft warehouse services retail giants including Marks & Spencer and L.K.Bennett and they provide bespoke solutions for many other distinguished brands and suppliers.
