Bryan Jackson, CBE Appointed Non-Executive Director of Unipart Group
Unipart has appointed Bryan Jackson, CBE as a Non-Executive Director of Unipart Group.
Bryan Jackson has been a Director of Unipart Manufacturing Group since 2005, taking on the role of Deputy Chairman in 2007 after a long and successful career with Ford and Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Limited.
Mr Jackson joined Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd at the start of its UK project in 1990; he retired from the position of Managing Director in 2004, having previously spent 23 years with Ford Motor Company. Between 2004 and 2009 he was an advisor to Toyota in Europe. During his career, he has worked in many disciplines holding senior positions and managing several different plants in the UK and Europe covering the full range of vehicle manufacturing.
He is also a keen advocate in developing UK manufacturing on the global stage. He is a past Chairman of the East Midlands Development Agency, having first been appointed to this role in 2004. He was also previously Chairman of the East Midlands Regional Council of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI).
From 2007 to May 2010, Mr Jackson held the role of non-executive Director of the Wesleyan Assurance Society. In May 2010 he was appointed Chairman of the Wesleyan. He currently holds the position of Chairman of the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham.
His commitment to UK manufacturing was recognised in the 2012 New Year Honours when he received the CBE for services to economic development and manufacturing.
