Bedfords Group Elects Regional Corporate Charity
Leeds based logistics specialist, Bedfords Group, has announced the Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal as its corporate charity for 2013. Bedfords will be supporting the appeal over the coming twelve months with various fundraising events, starting with a Golf Day and Gala Dinner in July.
The Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal will enter its third year in September, and helps to provide medical facilities for children in Leeds. So far the appeal has successfully raised in excess of £1 million thanks to the generosity of the community and surrounding businesses. Bedfords has become the latest company to pledge their support.
Bedfords is particularly active amongst the community and charities, having raised in excess of £6000 with a similar golf event last year. Charities such as Andreas Gift, Brain Tumour Research and Support Across Yorkshire (BTRS) have previously been supported.
Bedfords is also active in the community, represented by childrens road safety character Beddy, who visits schools to help educate children on road safety. Beddy is supported by a website, iphone apps, games and teaching resources, to help create a safer environment for our children.
Lauren Slack, Bedfords Head of Fundraising commented: “We try to be as pro-active as possible in helping the community, especially for younger generations. Once we had heard about the obstacles faced by the Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal, and what they were trying to achieve, we knew we wanted to help.”
