An Ekeri side opening trailer has been added by Synergy Recycling, the nationwide gas cylinder retrieval and management specialists, to its high-specification vehicle fleet. The new acquisition will ease and speed-up loading while providing maximum security and safety during the carriage of ‘high consequence’ goods.

Synergy specified the high security Ekeri body with 10 side doors per side, twin rear doors and central locking, in order to make the cargo easily loaded and retrieved anywhere along the trailer bed.

“This enables us to save a good deal of time,” explained Managing Director, Simon Roud “which is especially useful when making more than one collection or delivery on a single route. And although the concertina-type doors are built for reliability and high security, they are surprisingly easy to open and close. Altogether it makes life easier for the drivers while at the same time providing all-round load security.”

Moreover, Synergy Recycling works in close partnership with NAWDO (National Association of Waste Disposal Officers), the Environment Agency and the HSE, employing a national network of specially-trained ADR and Haz-Chem operatives, along with a team of specialist technical partners to ensure the safe handling and disposal of a wide range of gasses and other volatile materials.

“Our bespoke handling services not only require highly reliable equipment, but also a high level of expert knowledge and training across many areas of science and logistics practice,” added Simon. “For example, a recent contract for a military organisation involved the collection and handling of hazardous goods from deep within Afghanistan and then overland through several north-eastern countries. This sort of work requires a superior standard of trailer which we believe only Ekeri can provide.”

Ekeri’s product range includes truck bodies with side doors, drawbar and centre-axle trailers, semi-trailers, city trailers and step-frame trailers, which are suitable for virtually all road transport applications, including temperature-controlled ones.
