The SRCL Group Implements Masternaut’s Telematics Solution

Specialist healthcare services company SRCL Group has implemented fleet management solution, Masternaut Connect, in over 900 vehicles to increase efficiency. The solution will provide a more detailed level of communication to its customers through accurate vehicle tracking.

The Masternaut Connect platform is being used across the SRCL Group, including in ERS Medical’s patient transport ambulances and courier vehicles, to track drivers’ behaviour, engine idling and reduce fuel expenditure across the fleet.

With SRCL and ERS Medical’s customers ranging from private hospitals to large NHS Trusts across the UK, vehicles are known to undertake thousands of journeys each year. The data collected from the group’s fleet will be used to analyse where any problems may be occurring and create solutions to further improve the performance and efficiency of the group’s vehicles.

Since installation, Masternaut Connect has already started to make improvements. SRCL Group’s team is improving vehicle utilisation and cost savings – particularly in areas such as driver behaviour and safety, reducing fuel spend and tracking fleet distance for contract management. SRCL Group is also due to introduce a driver profiling program in February 2015 to reward its safest fleet drivers.

Lee Jackson, Group Head of Fleet Services at SRCL Group, said: “While it’s only been a few months since implementing Masternaut Connect, we’ve already been able to better analyse our services thanks to high visibility of driver behaviour, fleet distance and any wastage. We look forward to further analysing the results once we’ve used Masternaut Connect for a longer period, and implementing a driver profiling program in February 2015.”

He added, “We wanted an all-in-one solution that could help us use our assets better, run an efficient fleet, and improve communication of essential information with customers.”

Financially, SRCL Group is on track to see great savings by improving vehicle utilisation and using its assets better. This has been made possible by the ability to analyse where fuel is being wasted, reduce incidents and know when vehicle maintenance is required.
