Simon Mols was appointed by Schmitz Cargobull as telematics expert to provide consultancy to fleets in the UK and Ireland, making sure that cost savings and efficiencies can be maximised. He is a specialist in Cargobull’s innovative technology, which provides complete transport chain transparency and data continually available to the driver, freight agent and customer.

“Now Simon has joined our team, our customers get access to an expert who can advise them on how trailer telematics can help improve efficiency and cut operating costs,” said Alan Hunt, Managing Director of Schmitz Cargobull UK and Ireland.

The information available through Cargobull’s technology includes real time monitoring and load temperature, tyre condition, trailer locations and security. Having access to this information allows operators identify the areas that can be improved. In addition, operators are also protected against mishandling of goods and theft during the journey, thanks to remote reefer controls and door locking units.

“Today’s transport industry is driven by technology and information. I want to show hauliers how they can best collect and use that data, because it means they can gain a real competitive advantage and boost their profitability,” said Simon Mols, who will be based at the company’s head office in Warrington.

Simon Mols started his career as a car mechanic when he was just 16. After studying craftsmanship for the automotive industry at technical college, he worked for German certifications and standards body Tüv Süd, before joining Schmitz Cargobull Telematics in 2013.
