Petar Cvetkovic, CEO At Leading Logistics Firm DX, Comments On The Royal Mail’s Flotation And Potential Industrial Action

“There’s no doubt that privatisation, and the associated increase in competition, will bring improvements to the Royal Mail, as well as create a more commercial organisation. However, being a private organisation that controls a monopoly will present new challenges for the Royal Mail as it walks the fine line between being a private and a public company – this must be monitored and controlled to ensure that both consumers and businesses are treated fairly and can maintain access to the entire network.

It’s important that we retain our wholesale access in order to continue delivering and competing in this marketplace, a marketplace which currently provides significant benefits to both DSA operators and end Customers alike.

Many of our Customers rely on both DX and Royal Mail for their mail deliveries, and the change in ownership and strategy within the Royal Mail – towards parcels and packets for goods fulfilment – is obviously where the growth is, but it does leave Customers with little choice when looking for real mail solutions – especially if the proposed strike action is taken.

DX, however, is one of those options; having launched during a Royal Mail strike in 1975, we have been delivering mail to businesses across many sectors including legal, financial services, public sector and construction ever since – offering reliability and security to our Customers at all times.”
