The transport and logistics sector of this country are very pleased to announce that a very large amount of work has been done in order to ensure that the Settle-Carlisle line is back up and running by the end of the next month for its new wave of passengers, travelers and commuters.
It is clear that the workflow has been steadily achieving its goal, and this month has seen the movement of the £23 million initiative to fix the railway and surrounding area after a major ground reshuffle in a February flood that occurred last year. It is quite clear that, as Rhiannon Price of Network Rail indicates, the work to reinstate the railway line has been steadily progressing towards the finishing line and the workers and local living in the area have been very supportive and helpful to the cause of the project. Due to be finished on the last day of March next month, it is evident that the replanting of various arbors that were destroyed by the storm as well as the installation of rock-faced protection in order to protect drains and pipe networks is necessary in order to ensure that the Cumbria region is not as disastrously affected by flooding and water problems like what happened the previous year.
Since then, the works have not only involved fixing the railway between Settle and Carlisle, but has also enabled the protection of the wildlife in the area. As has been said already, more trees are set to be planted in order to ensure that the fragile ecosystem in the region is protected and stimulated for future generations of wildlife to thrive on the surrounding habit. Similarly, Natural England has also been involved to ensure that badgers and fish stocks are protected.
