CML Expands With New Department To Support Latest Client

Leading Leicestershire logistics specialist Core Management Logistics (CML) has added to its list of high profile clients by winning a new contract with sports performance apparel brand, PlayerLayer.

CML, based in Lutterworth, has chosen to expand its service offering to accommodate the sport performance brand’s needs by launching a new dedicated in-house garment personalisation department, which has resulted in the creation of a number of new positions within the business.

The new department will provide logo embroidery and heat sealing customisation services to provide PlayerLayer with an increased competitive advantage. CML will also manage all of PlayerLayer’s warehouse and distribution services for its entire product range, which will be sold directly to customers and through the Playerlayer web platform.

PlayerLayer manufactures premium and bespoke technical sports apparel for schools, universities and sports teams.

Morgan Hay, Finance and Operations Director at PlayerLayer, commented, “Thanks to the launch of CML’s new department, PlayerLayer now has a single source for our personalisation and warehousing requirements. This enables the brand to deliver truly unique products whilst increasing operational flexibility and reducing lead-times.”

Managing Director, Graham Copley, commented, “We are very excited about our new partnership with PlayerLayer, who approached us through our website.

“At CML we are continuing to expand to ensure that all our customers’ needs are met. We think it’s very important that we show flexibility and are able to enhance our offering to customers whatever their requirements and the launch of our new logo and transfer department, specifically created for PlayerLayer, is testament to that. We therefore feel confident that our approach will allow us to support PlayerLayer as it continues to grow.”

PlayerLayer joins CML’s growing portfolio of major UK and international retailer customers, which includes Triumph Cosmetics, Marks & Spencer, L.K.Bennett, Halfords, Head UK and Björn Borg lingerie. The company enjoyed a turnover of £16m in the last financial year and employs approximately 200 staff.

Centrally based at Magna Park in Lutterworth, CML is a privately owned supply-chain services company specialising in retail warehousing and distribution, along with global freight forwarding services. Their 270,000 sq ft warehouse services retail giants and they provide bespoke solutions for many other distinguished brands and suppliers.
