Cap hpi, the automotive industry data experts, are launching a WLTP solution for users of their new vehicle data, which is being trialled this August ahead of the full roll out in September. In order to develop this flexible, industry-wide solution, the company has worked alongside vehicle manufacturers, importers and representative bodies.

The solution will provide minimum and maximum values in the standard new vehicle data, together with full WLP data for manufacturers that have sufficiently simplified vehicle options. Moreover, it will offer a real-time API to support specific vehicle configurations for those manufacturers that require it.

“Our solution has been designed after consulting with our customers and all manufacturers. We believe this will meet consumer and business needs and our release plans will enable our customers to hit timelines,” said Beth Davies, product manager at cap hpi. “WLTP is a crucial industry-wide change, and we are working across the automotive supply chain to ensure we have a robust platform in place. We are building an agile solution that can meet the differing demands of manufacturers and data users.”

Working across different manufacturer platforms, data will take time to become available as manufacturers take different approaches.

“We continue to make our experts available to advise at every step of this process, and we are creating a portal to allow customers to access the latest crucial information from us about the WLTP solution and its implementation,” Davies added.

The API technical specification and a test interface will be available to cap hpi customers in September, with the solution being launched before the final manufacturer data is available in order to give users as much time as possible to schedule development and to test the interface. The standard new vehicle data is continually being updated and will contain the data the customers need by the first of January 2019.
