Railway Expansion Sparks New Division For Search Consultancy
A leading recruitment consultancy has launched a new Rail division, thanks to predicted growth in the sector.
Search Consultancy – supplier of recruitment solutions to the civil engineering and infrastructure markets – is branching out to bring its expertise to a new area.
With a 30-year pedigree in the infrastructure arena, Search has launched its Rail division this month, supplying qualified technical staff, engineers and operatives across the UK.
The launch comes on the back of substantial Government Investment, as well as Network Rail’s plans to spend over £38billion running and expanding railway across the UK between now and 2019. It is estimated that construction work in the rail arena will continue to grow throughout the year.
The new Search division has initially opened in Manchester, headed up by Director Paul Kynaston with new recruit Gavin Gallagher taking on the role of Rail Divisional Manager. Rail expert Gavin has more than nine years experience recruiting for the Rail sector and will take on a team of four consultants to run the newly established division.
Search Rail sits alongside the Search Construction Business in England, under the direction of Paul Kynaston.
Initially, the team will focus on specialist civil engineering works such as track renewals, station upgrades, overhead lines and signalling works, providing temporary, contract and permanent work for candidates.
Paul said: “Search is making good headway into the civil engineering and infrastructure market and the next logical step is to capitalise on our successes and relationships by moving into the Rail sector.
“We are expecting a jobs boom within the rail market so there has never been a better time to set up a dedicated division.
“Search will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to meeting the demand for a highly skilled and capable workforce to carry out expansion and maintenance of the UK’s rail services.
“Once the team in Manchester is established, we will gauge whether it is of benefit to roll out to our other locations.
“This is a new and exciting opportunity and another big development in the continued growth of Search.”
The division will initially target the Signalling and Telecommunications sub-sector, recruiting for roles including testers, installers, mechanical fitters, signal testers and telecom testers and installers.
